India has all types of people living in all kinds of places from a dusty dessert to tropical forests. And the secrets I am going to share with you all are coming from the era when princesses used to bathe in milk and rose petals which is about.. thousands of years ago.
Indian women mostly focus on their skin complexions, body shape and hair care.
We love to make our hair smell good, keep our skin fair and build curves in our body.
It is said that women in ancient India were praised of their lustrous, long hair and flawless complexion.
So let’s see what they did to achieve what I call the ‘natural glam’ haha

1)     If you are on a journey to losing weight, you might want to try adding spice in your diet e.g. chillies. But don’t go overboard. Chillies speed up your metabolism and believe it or not, even models add chillies and other spices in their diet to maintain their weight.

2)     Neem leaves were very popular to treat acne and other skin problems. The leaves were crushed to make a paste / face mask or neem oil was used as a cleanser

3)     Turmeric was an important spice used to even out the skin complexion and get rid of hyperpigmentation. Make a paste of chick pea flour, turmeric and milk. Add the ingredients until it has consistency like any other face masks. Apply this paste all over your body and massage it in. Wash it out after 10-15 mins.

5)     As well as neem, onion juice was also believed to fight off acne. Mix some onion juice and honey in equal ratio. Apply it as a face mask and wash it after 10-15 mins. 

Ancient Ayurvedic (Indian) Beauty Secrets6)     Another face mask for acne prone skin uses sandalwood and turmeric powder mixed with yoghurt. This mask has anti-septic properties. It makes your skin smooth, soft, acne-free and even toned. Mix the ingredients until your desired consistency forms and apply it. Wash it after 10-15 mins.

Ancient Ayurvedic (Indian) Beauty Secrets7)     Ancient Indian women used Kajal (homemade natural eyeliner). It was made from castor oil, coconut oil, almond oil and black mustard seeds. This made your eyes brighter/whiter, it improved vision and stimulates the growth of eye lashes

Ancient Ayurvedic (Indian) Beauty Secrets8)    The main ingredients used for hair care were Amla, Shikakai, Coconut Oil and Henna. There are actually thousands of herbs that were used for hair care but these are the main ones. And I always use coconut oil. I can swear by it. It really does help my hair grow really fast.

9)     Ayurveda advises that do not put anything on your skin that you cannot eat. All their face masks are actually edible. Even if I use these natural stuff, I put make up on my skin like foundation. I wonder what it does to my skin 🙁 I will try to use them less often now.

10)   Many people think that being beautiful will make us happy but it is really the other way around. You will be beautiful when you are happy from the inside. Try to walk past a crowd of people with a frown on your face or a beautiful smile and you will notice the difference.

The secret my Mum passed on to Me:

It is a face mask. My skin was really bad back then and so she advised me to apply this face mask which actually changed my skin A LOT.  I kept ignoring her advice because I used to think it’s an old thing and it’s not gonna work but actually nothing worked better than this face mask.
It was Honey and Cinnamon mask. For more details on this click HERE.I truly want to stop using cosmetics and embrace these ancient secrets. And to be honest, the one that I have already embraced have worked WAY better than anything else. For example coconut oil for my hair, honey and cinnamon for skin and certain diets for body. I will try my best to adapt a Natural Healthy Lifestyle.

DIY: Lose Weight Without Exercising

It is 100% possible. I lost weight like that as well. I didn’t do much exercise. All I did was added something in my diet and thats all.

The secret is in Pineapples. I did so much research on this and found many stories of men and women telling about their weight loss stories. Most of them lost a lot of kilos in a short time. And I tried it too. But since I only needed to lose 3-4 kgs, I lost my weight in about 2 weeks time. That’s really short time compared to what I tried before.

How do Pineapples help lose weight?

Pineapples are the only fruits which contain an enzyme called Bromelain. I mean they may exist in other fruits but not as enough as in Pineapples.
This enzyme helps in digestion of food, prevents inflammation and swelling.
They even make Bromelain Tablets for weight loss. So why take tablets when you can get it naturally.

They also contain Vitamin B1 which helps metabolize carbohydrates.

How much should you eat?

You can eat 2-3 slices of pineapple or make a juice/smoothie out of it.
If you are making a smoothie, mix an apple with it because apples also help in weight loss.

DO NOT eat canned pineapples because they add sugars, preservatives and many other things that are harmful. This will NOT help you in weight loss.
Not even the Pineapple Juice cartons work even if they say it is 100% natural.
So you will be better off drinking/eating it FRESH.

DIY: Most Effective Weight Loss Tip

When I was trying to lose weight, I tried everything from A- Z and they didn’t really work. I lost weight but then I gained the same amount. So I got really frustrated.

Then I heard about this tip on internet. I read it on so many blogs but I didn’t think it would work. Finally, I give it a chance and it came out to be the MOST effective tip I ever tried. My belly was flat and my thighs were slimmer as I wanted.

I lost about 4-5 kg and that’s how much I was aiming for. I wasn’t really fat but I wanted to keep my weight under control if you know what I mean.

So the tip is: Eat only and ONLY when you feel that you are hungry and only when you really need to eat something. Do not eat if you are full or half full. You can eat as many meals as you want but remember to eat them only when you are hungry. 

Also don’t eat 2 hours before going to bed. Drink lots of water. You can eat junk food but in a limited amount.

If you strictly follow these tips for at least 2 weeks, I promise you, you will lose weight.

This tip helps you lose belly fat, back arms fat and thigh fat. Basically everywhere girls are aiming to lose fat these days.

Lose weight from a glass of homemade drink.

I have Two DIY home made recipes which helps you lose weight. This is a lazy way to lose weight. It burns hundreds of calories even if you are just sitting down on your computer. It also increases your metabolism which helps in weight loss.

1st Recipe. You Need:

2 tsp Honey
1 tsp Cinnamon
1cup/ 8oz/ 237 ml Water

Directions:

1) Use 1 part of cinnamon to 2 parts of raw honey. 1 tsp cinnamon to 2 tsp honey is recommended.
2) Boil 1 cup/8oz/237 ml of water.
3) Pour the boiling water on cinnamon. Cover it and let it steep until it is warm enough to drink.
4) Add honey when the water is cool/warm. Never add honey when it is hot as the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw honey.
5) Drink 1/2 of this before going to bed. The other half should be covered and refrigerated and drink it in the morning. Do not re-heat it in the morning.

Do not add any flavours in this mixture. And this recipe only works if you drink it on empty stomach.
Scientists have researched on this and the beneficial effects of honey and cinnamon target the phenomenon of insulin resistance and the condition called metabolic syndrome. This recipe also helps people with diseases. I am not going to name them because there are hundreds of them.

I drink this every morning and night. My weight haven’t moved over 48 kg because I need to gain some weight as per my height. I just drink it because its healthy.

2nd Recipe. You Need:
1cup/80z/237 ml of Pineapple Juice

Directions:
Just drink it. Pineapple contains bromelain which helps in weight loss. It is also good for skin and digestion. To include this in diet buy a smoothie which has pineapple in it or eat fruit salads. Add pineapple in anything and everything. Its totally worth it. Take care.
