How to Get That Summer Glow

We all want that bronzy, glowy, goddess-like glow. So here’s my quick and short routine to achieve that summer look.

Here’s my bare face. I only have my foundation, concealer and eyebrows on. I used Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in the shade 57, Maybelline’s Fit Me concealer in shade 25 and Rimmel’s Eye brow pencil and clear Brow Gel.

On the left side I put my highlighter on normally with a brush. And on the right side I put the highlighter on with some tips tricks to get the max glow out of it.

1) Always use a highlighter that is gold based. I used MUA’s Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter in ‘Iridescent Gold’. It is an exact dupe of Nar’s ‘Albatross’ highlighter. It has very fine gold shimmer in it and looks really natural yet glowy. I swatched it for you guys below 🙂

I promise it’s not white like it looks in the photo below. It has a very fine gold glow to it. The camera doesn’t do the justice 🙁

2) Spray your brush with Mac fix+ or any other setting spray. This will make a huge difference because it will intensify the glow without looking oily. I NEVER apply highlighter without spraying my brush with Mac Fix+. Even professional makeup artists swear by this trick!

3) Use a cream highlighter and then set it with a powder highlighter. This will prevent your cheeks from looking cakey.. even though you’re applying two highlighters. This is because they creams always give a nice, smooth base for the powders. So this will actually give you a natural and intense glow. As a cream highlighter I used Seventeen’s Instant Glow Skin Wow Tan.

Use all the steps above to rocks those cheekbones and work the glow! I always get compliments on how my skin looks healthy.. but in reality I just know how to get that glow on 😉

Hope you girls like this tutorial and let me know if you want more of the makeup tutorials or keep to it the natural DIY stuff xx
