Do you get that feeling when you are watching TV and you just wonder “How do they NEVER get any skin problems and always have that glow?” I always get that feeling. So here are some skin care tips that celebrities use. Some celebrities were interviewed and asked questions on their skin routines so here are their responses:
Jennifer Aniston:
“Most of the nights I just use Neutrogena soap” and “I have been washing my face with baking soda for years. It’s not harsh on my skin and gives me a glow.” Now I don’t know about using baking soda on face because I have never tried it but if you guys want to give it a try. I would suggest this for girls with oily skin though.
Neutrogena Original Formula Facial Cleansing Bar, Fragrance Free $8
I read an article from Real Simple about how to make you hair/ make up and other beauty concerns, last as long as possible. It’s really amazing and works wonders…
Foundation:
Use oil-free foundations, because they don’t have emollient ingredients that makes the foundation slide off your face. If your skin is dry, use a really good moisturizer and let it soak it for 5 mins before putting foundation on.
Lock it in with powder and you are ready to go 🙂
Eye Shadow:
Apply a primer before. If you don’t have a primer, use a creamy shadow that matches your skin color or that matches the eye shadow you will use. If you don’t prefer layering, then just apply the shadow with a damp brush and that should last long enough.
Eyeliner:
Liquid and gel eyeliners last longer than the pencil one. But if you just can’t part with your beloved pencil, then trace it over with a black shadow. You can also trace with a liquid liner on the bottom and top. I do that personally and it last WAY longer, like up to 8-9 hours. BE VERY CAREFUL though, and try not to stab yourself with the liquid liner brush in the eye.
Mascaras:
Simply use a water proof mascara.
Lipstick:
Use a lip liner. And use a lip brush, because it presses the pigment deeper in lips than a tube or your finger. Also it applies several thin layers without a gloppy result.
A Blow-Out:
After a home blow-out, make sure that your hair is completely dry. If there’s moisture left, it will definitely get your hair frizzy. Run your finger thoroughly to check for any moisture. Then do style as you want. Always wear a shower cap when taking shower, as it will prevent that poofy hair look after getting out of shower. Sleep with a high ponytail, it gives volume 🙂
An Up-do:
Apply moose in your hair and blow dry it.
Curls:
This trick won’t work on dry hair. So shampoo and condition your hair with moisturising formulas. Then spritz hair spray on damp hair. This will hold your curls for long enough. Curl your hair with roller or pin curls and blow dry it, if your in a hurry. Otherwise just leave them on for around an hour, depending on your hair type.
Manicure:
Buff each nail before painting them, as its harder for paint to adhere on rough surfaces. Do not skip base and top coat. Base coat gives the polish something to stick on and the top coat seals in the color. Let each coat dry for full 2 mins.
Perfume:
Choose and Eau de Parfum which is more concentrated and stronger than others like Eau de Toilette. Apply perfume on places that aren’t really exposed to air like your nape, the back of your neck.
A Shave:
Use a hydrating gel for dry skin. This will prop up the hairs and it gives the razor a deep access to the roots. Use a thin layer of the gel, since any more will obstruct the razor. Make a few passes with your razor over each area.
Self-Tanner:
Exfoliate the area before few hours of your tanning process and then moisturize. If you don’t your tan will flake off more quickly. After self-tanning, although your skin may feel slightly sticky, resist rubbing the excess off with a towel, the color needs time to develop fully. Instead blot it if you can.
Take Care.
Okay so I read this article about how you can clear acne by thinking and visualizing that you have clear, beautiful skin. This doesn’t mean that negative thoughts cause acne and that you should stop taking external care of your skin.
Personal Experience: When I read this article, I saved it and thought to put it up for you guys so you can all try it out. But before publishing this post, I tried it myself, and it worked a little bit to be honest. It didn’t clear up everything, but it did make a small difference. My skin is different than yours, so who knows, it may clear up all the acne for you. It’s worth a try.
So here’s what you do:
This is a request from one of my blog readers and I am so sorry I took really long.. I am in so much hurry these days.. Hope they work for you guys though :). Remember, before applying any masks, wash your face with warm water to open up the pores, so the skin can absorb the nutrients. Keep the mask for at least 15 mins and repeat every other day.
1) This is an ancient Indian recipe (It worked wonders for me, for all skin types)
You Need:
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Yoghurt
Mix them well together and Apply. This recipe is my favourite one because it gets rid of my acne, acne scars and works INCREDIBLY.
2) You Need: (This is for oily skin types)
1 tsp Gram Flour
Low Fat Milk
Add enough milk to make a paste type mask. Mix and Apply.
3) You Need: (For Acne Prone and sensitive skin types)
1/2 tsp Lemon
1 tsp Honey
Mix and Apply.
4) You Need: (For sensitive/sun burnt skin)
Cucumber juice
Gram Flour
Add enough cucumber juice to make a paste. Mix and Apply.
And the last tip to lighten your skin complexion isn’t a facial mask or anything. It is about your diet. Putting on face masks and not eating the right diet is not going to bring any results. So eats lots of fruits/veggies and take care of your vitamins + minerals intake. Drink lots of water as they always say. After all, you are what you eat. Let me know if you have any secret skin lightening recipes 🙂 Take Care.
This is actually my own personal experience. This technique works amazing. I learnt it from a YouTube video. So this is kinda what they call “Face Mapping.” It basically tells you that why you are having acne for example, on your forehead the most. So here it goes..
Why do you get acne on forehead?
The main causes could be stress, not getting enough sleep and not washing hair too frequent. So to get rid of them from your forehead, make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep. DO NOT take any stress. Try to meditate and think positive to get rid of the stress. Wash your hair at least 3 times a weak and be careful if you are wearing hats, as they pass on those bacteria on your fore head, which causes acne. Also it could be poor digestion. So drink lots of water or you could drink green tea (it includes water and green tea is GREAT for poor digestion) or you could drink a lemonade but without sugar, which tastes disgusting but might work for you. I haven’t tried lemonade but let me know if it works for you 🙂 When you are using tweezers on forehead, make sure they are clean. Just wash them under hot water and they will be perfect.
Why do you get acne on temples?
Its because you are eating a lot of junk food and you need to reduce the amount of fat from your diet. Try eating fruits, vegetables that are cooling for your body. Like watermelons, cucumber etc..
Why do you get acne on nose?
You might be eating too spicy food like garlic, chilli, onions etc… So you need to make sure that you are eating a balanced diet and cut down the spicy foods. Also get more fresh air by exercising for e.g, go for a walk. And make sure you include Vitamin B in your diet.
Why do you get acne between your eyes and above your nose?
STOP eating foods 2 hours before you go to sleep. This is very important and it is one of the biggest cause of acne. I used to eat a lot before I go to sleep but since I stopped it, my face started to clear up. Or you could be lactose intolerance. So do not drink all the dairy products.
Why do you get acne on upper cheeks?
Stop smoking. Not only that affects other people’s health but it also pollutes your own house. So throw away those cigarette packets. And keep a plant in your room which will remove the pollution from the environment in your house.
Why do you get acne on lower cheeks?
You need to keep your oral hygiene clean. Brush twice a day. Plus if you talk a lot on phones, the bacteria from your phone gets on your lower cheeks causing more pimples. So keep your phone away from your cheeks. Otherwise, you can clean your phone with anti-bacterial wipes. Sounds crazy huh.?
Why do you get acne on ears?
Drink more water and cut down the salt and caffeine in your diet.
Why do you break out on chin area?
It could be hormonal imbalance which you can’t really help unfortunately unless you do meditation. Plus you are taking too much stress and not getting enough sleep. So make sure to balance it out. Meditate and sleep a lot. Your digestion could be poor so to improve it, drink lots of water and eat some yoghurt 🙂
Please let me know if these tips worked for you 🙂 Take Care
Blackheads are caused by dead skin cells and sebum that turns black in colour because of exposure.
Why shouldn’t you use products to remove blackheads? It’s because lots of products have alcohol, menthol and eucalyptus, which increases oil production and this is where blackheads come from.
Here are some ways to get rid of them naturally :-
1) You Need: (This is like making your own pore strips)
Egg White
Thin tissue paper (Kitchen tissue is fine)
Beat an egg white and make sure you don’t mix the yoke with the white. Apply the egg white on, where you have blackheads and then cover it with 2 layers of tissue. Peel it off when it dries. You will obviously know when it dries. Rinse your face with warm water and the black heads should be gone.
P.S. I haven’t tried it so please tell me guys if it worked or not 🙂
2) You Need:
Tomato Juice
Cotton Balls/sheets
Squeeze some tomato juice out. Take your cotton and soak it under warm water. Place the soaked cotton on the blackheads area and hold it there for at least a minute. Repeat soaking the cotton if it gets cold. This will soften the blackheads. Apply the tomato juice on and leave for 15 mins. Rinse your face with cold water to close the pores.
3) You can exfoliate your face every 3-4 days a week to get rid of them. To find a natural exfoliator suitable for your skin type, check out my blog post HERE and make your own exfoliator.
4) You can make your own pore strips at home without spending too much money. Check this video HERE to make them.
What I do to get rid of them, is simply exfoliate my skin naturally about 3-4 times a week. But for you, it depends on your skin. DO NOT try to scrap your skin in order to remove the blackheads. This will damage your skin really bad. Please tell me if you have tried any of these tricks and it worked for you. Your opinion really matters 🙂 Take Care.
Its been SO long since I have blogged and to be honest guys I didn’t even touch my laptop for a week. I know its the saddest thing you have heard. Anyways lets get to the point. This is NOT about rubbing lemons although they work but also makes your skin EXTREMELY dry. I am going to share a home made recipe with you guys that you can use to get even skin tone. Some of us have amazing tanned bodies but then we worry about the “not tanned” parts you know. It looks horrible. So stay tuned if you want gorgeous even tone skin.
1) NEVER forget to use sunscreen lotion when wandering around in sun.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Salt
Essential Oil (optional)
Directions:
Mix these ingredients together. Olive Oil cleanses and moisturises your skin naturally and salt exfoliates to remove dead skin cells. Essential oil like lavender oil is just to give your scrub a little bit of a natural fragrance. But its optional anyway. Rub the scrub in circular motions and then wash your body off with a shower gel.
3) Buy a body moisturiser with vitamin C because it helps to even out your skin tone. You can find these in drug stores or pharmacies.
Don’t tan your body more in order to get rid of the uneven tone because it will make it worse. Take Care
Hey Guys! Been a Long time because school just started 🙁 Anyways.. I am posting my DAILY SKIN ROUTINE. Which works the BEST for me. I have tried many daily skin care routines and I found this one the most suitable for my skin type. Now, I have different skin than yours, so this routine might only work for the people with similar skin type to mine.
My Skin Type => Combination, Acne Prone (of course), and sensitive.
This is a step by step guide from day to night :-
Morning:
1) When you wake up, wash your face with cold water with any face wash you wish or if you are having a hot shower, make sure you splash your face with cold water. It wakes you up instantly and closes your pores, making your skin look healthy throughout the day. By the way, my favourite face wash is from The Body Shop called Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash.
2) Apply a moisturiser, even if your skin is oily. Skipping this part is one of the worse things you would do to your skin. I use Palmer’s cocoa butter, because it also gets rid of acne scars which eventually disappears after 2 weeks.
3) I apply foundation to cover up. If you do too, then instead of using a primer, use 100% natural aloe gel as a primer. It is one of the best things I did to my skin, because Aloe Vera is INCREDIBLY amazing for skin. It can be use as a natural primer because the texture of it, is so smooth, it will give you a matte finish look.
Afternoon:
1) After you come back from work or school, around 4-5 pm, remove your make up. My best make up remover is EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL. It is good for ALL skin types and it works better than those chemical make up removers.
2) Then, exfoliate your skin. Check my blog post on making your own exfoliator for acne prone skin. Just pick one that is suitable for your skin type HERE. I use the Bajri flour as an exfoliator (mentioned in my exfoliator post).
3) Wash your face with a face wash to remove the excess olive oil and rinse it off with luke warm water to open up the pores.
4) Then, apply a face mask. Check out my DIY 3 in 1 face mask for acne prone skin HERE also I have a DIY mask to get rid of pimple overnight >> Click HERE. Leave any of the mask you pick, for at least half hour and rinse it off with cold water.
Night:
1) Wash your face with a face wash and rinse it off with cold water. If you have a pimple, then check out my honey mask to get rid of it overnight HERE. Just make sure before applying the honey mask on pimple, dampen a tissue in warm water and dab it on the pimple, so it will open its pore allowing the mask to work effectively.
So that is my basic skin care routine which works WONDERS for me. I hope it works for you too. Take care
Girls, I know it’s extremely embarrassing for girls to have facial hair. But you are not the only one. If you have facial hair and want the EASIEST way to get rid of them, then
You Need:
A thread of 6 inches which I am sure everyone has at home.
Yes, its threading, but the way I do at home doesn’t require an expert to do it and you don’t need some one else to do it for you. This way, your facial hair will grow back in 2 weeks, so its almost like waxing but I wouldn’t recommend anyone to wax their face, as it strips away the natural moisture in your skin and makes your skin red. It also removes hair from roots so in meantime, they will stop growing.
Directions:
1) Take the thread and tie both ends together.
Watch this video for further directions HERE because it is hard to explain in words.
The video is for eyebrows but you can do the same for upper lip.
After threading, just splash the threaded area with cold water and you are ready to go 🙂 Take Care
