DIY: 3 Best Herbs for Acne-Prone / Irritated Skin

table_thumb[2]

I always hear the phrase “If you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin” but how many of us really follow that. It’s no wonder that people who swear by this phrase also had radiant and glowing, healthy skin.

And adding more to that its not surprising when I hear that these “everyday chemicals” we put on our skin causes cancer… illnesses… skin problems… infertility and many more. So why are we still using them?

Its only because we don’t know the natural alternatives of these life-eating chemicals!
Well that is why I am here for…

First of all head to your bathroom and bin all the chemicals because I am going to list all your natural alternatives here. And if you think your products are natural… TEST THEM ON THIS WEBSITE: SKIN DEEP COSMETICS. Just type your product name in the search box and it will tell you on a scale of 1-10 how safe it is.

On this website you can also search for 100% natural or organic cosmetics 🙂 So type away then…

1) Rose Petals
rosesThis plant is AMAZING for aging, inflamed and dry skin. You can use its rose water as a toner!
It has anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties.
It re hydrates and soothes the ageing skin since it has high Vitamin C content.

Anti-Acne Toner
You may use the rose water alone BUT to make it even more effective, you can mix it with some Aloe Vera juice.
Store the mixture in a spray bottle
Mix equal parts of both ingredients and use it every morning after washing your face with soap and warm water. You can then pile on your normal moisturizer and other stuff 🙂

Personal Experience:
I have used (and still use) the rose water as a toner for years and one thing I can tell you is that IT IS THE BEST one I ever tried. My skin feels so calm and soothed. I get no red pimples anymore or any other type of inflammations and even if I do (like once a year) I apply the rose water and its gone in no time! Trust me you will get addicted to it… in a good way.
Besides toner, I spray it on my chest and neck before I go to sleep because its scent helps me to sleep better and it makes me smell good of course! So when I snuggle in my bed all I have is sweet dreams… 🙂
I use Botanics 100% Organic Rose Water

2) Rosehip
tumblr_inline_mjnuecc6NJ1qz4rgpThis herb is popular in the Hollywood industry and among the celebrities like Miranda Kerr, a Victoria Secret model.
I have a whole post dedicated to this herb and its oil because it is THAT special and effective!
Check out the post HERE!

This Himalayan herb is popular to get rid of acne scars (or any other type of scars), sunburn or stretch marks. This herb should be a girl’s best friend… unless for you its chocolate or diamonds!

You can use the oil as a night-time moisturizer because when you sleep, your skin does the magic of absorbing ingredients and making them effective on skin. So when you rise and shine in the morning, you get no heart attacks by scars and pimples 🙂

Personal Experience:
I use Botanics 100% Facial Oil which is a blend of different and amazing herbal oils and rose-hip oil happens to be one of them.
I use it as a night moisturizer or when my skin is extra dry, I mix a few drops of it with my Organic Dead Sea Spa Magik Rich Moisturizer
My skin always feels moisturized, supple and radiant! And now my face is scar-free.
It feels amazing to touch my skin now because before this thing my skin was tough and stiff but now its supple and beautiful 🙂

3) Neem:
ниймThis herb is SO popular in India for getting rid of acne because it is a natural astringent, antiseptic, antibacterial, and antifungal… basically All-In-One and that is where it gets its fame!

I haven’t tried this herb BUT I have heard SOOOO much about it and it is used in TONS of cosmetics today.

In India this herb exists in every backyard. It also has been mentioned hundreds of times in Ayurvedic (Indian) Beauty Treatments.
During my childhood years, me and my granny always went to pick up its leaves to use it in cooking and some other stuff.

I have seen it in most health stores so you can pick it up from there.
You can use its oil or crush up its leaves to make a fresh face mask.
